Matt McCormick came to town while on an epic six week tour to bring us a program
of films featured on his new DVD collection "From Tugboats to Polar Bears". At the last
minute we had to change the venue to the Nexus Gallery and to our surprise they had an
art show up dedicated to the Philly mural arts program which was started as a fancy way
to cover up graffiti. It was an oddly appropriate setting for his film "The Subconscious
Art of Graffiti Removal."
Matt also runs an amazing experimental film distro called Peripheral Produce where you can
find DVD and VHS collections of work from amazing artists from all over the US and elsewhere.
He also runs the annual "Portland Documentary and Experimental (PDX) Film Festival".
